The Senate Campus Affairs Committee will listen to your thoughts about a helmet requirement for scooter riders.
The Campus Affairs Committee would like to announce their upcoming Safety Forum for today February 22, 2011 from 6-7:30 PM in the Maryland Room (0100) in Marie Mount Hall. This year’s forum will concentrate on Traffic Safety, specifically scooters. The topic of scooters and scooter safety has been a hot button item for the University this year with several high profile accidents involving student athletes. The Campus Affairs Committee plans to use the forum as a sounding board to generate opinions from the campus about the possibility of a new helmet policy. We will also listen to any other safety concerns that are shared.
The panel members include: David Allen, Director, DOTS; Officer Bob Mueck, Department of Public Safety; and Darryl Conway, Assistant Athletic Director. The panel will give their comments on Traffic Safety here on Campus, as well as field questions from the attendees. Campus Affairs would like members of the campus community to attend and hear what the panel has to say and share their thoughts about Traffic Safety on Campus.
Gene Ferrick
Chair, Senate Campus Affairs Committee
