*Every minute of every day, someone needs blood. That blood can only come
from a volunteer donor, a person like you who makes the choice to donate.
There is no substitute for your donation. When you make a blood donation,
you join a very select group. Currently only 3 out of every 100 people in
America donate blood. *

Blood products also help save peoples lives, whether it’s a blood
transfusion for a car accident victim, platelets for cancer patients, or
frequent blood transfusions for sickle cell patients.

The American Red Cross will be holding a blood drive at
the University of Maryland Stamp Student Union in the Atrium from *9 am to 3
pm* on:

A great way to get the UMD community involved in blood drives is to have
student groups help sponsor the drives. If you or anyone you know is in a
group that's interested in sponsoring please let us know! Send an email to

There are several dates still open including April 27th, May 3rd, and May
9th.
