The Pritzker School of Medicine is now accepting applications for its 2011 Summer Pipeline Program: the Chicago Academic Medicine Program (CAMP).

Chicago Academic Medicine Program

CAMP is the ideal skills building program for your outstanding freshman and sophomore students. This program was developed to help college students from groups that have been shown to be underrepresented in health related sciences (African American or Black, Hispanic, American Indian, Alaskan Native or Native Hawaiian) college students from disadvantaged backgrounds to build the knowledge base and academic skills necessary for success in a pre-medical program of study.

This year's program dates are June 20 through July 29, 2011 and the program will again be held on The University of Chicago campus. The application deadline is Monday, March 14, 2011.

CAMP is a tuition free, non-residential, six week academic skills building program. Participants will receive a $1000 stipend and Chicago Transit Authority bus passes to defray in-town transportation expenses associated with the program. Students will be selected locally or must have a local residence for the duration of this commuter program.

Application Process

The application for CAMP is available on our website. Applications are not considered complete until a certified transcript and the required letters of recommendation have been received by this office. The online application for the program is available on our website at:

Please pass this information on to select students in your school as well as your colleagues. But, we hope that you will encourage your most promising students to apply to the University of Chicago‚s Chicago Academic Medicine Program.

Should you have questions about the program, please contact Rosita Ragin, Assistant Dean for Multicultural Affairs at (773) 702-1617 or me.
