Gryphon Scientific, a scientific consulting company, is looking for
undergraduate life science majors for a summer internship and graduating
seniors (with a BS or BA in a life science discipline) for a full-time
position. A description of each position is below. Applicants should e-mail

*Requirements:*

   - US citizen
   - B.S. or B.A. in a life science discipline (or majoring in such a field
   for the internship)
   - Able to work independently
   - Excellent writing skills
   - GPA greater than 3.0 (out of 4.0)
   - Willing to relocate to greater Washington DC area
   - Interest in biosecurity, health policy, or science policy (but not
   necessarily experience)


For undergraduates looking for a summer internship.
*Intern*
Interns assist senior staff with data gathering and provide light
administrative support. Tasks may include: review of professional journals
and publications to extract and summarize information relevant to assigned
research projects; research using internet-based search techniques,
informational resources, and other available search tools; and drawing
chemical structures, performing BLAST searches, and data input.
Additionally, interns are required to assist with routine office tasks such
as ordering supplies and printing/binding reports. Interns must be working
toward a B.S. or B.A. in a life science discipline.

For graduating seniors
*Research Assistant*
Research assistants perform literature-based research, analysis, and
modeling under the supervision of senior staff. Duties include: reviewing
professional journals and publications to extract and summarize information
relevant to assigned research projects; using internet-based search
techniques, informational resources, and other available research tools;
drafting report sections and charts for review by mid-level staff members;
applying specialized quantitative and/or qualitative analysis techniques and
methods; conducting interviews to gather primary data; and participating in
proposal preparation by compiling data needed to support proposal and
assemble portions of the final document. In addition, research assistants
may attend professional and client meetings with senior staff. Research
assistants must have a B.S. or B.A. in a life science discipline.
