Student Aid 2011
A research support position (laboratory aid) is available for an undergraduate this spring and summer (2011) at the Beltsville Agricultural Research Center. This is a University of Maryland appointment. The aid provides assistance with basic laboratory activities (e.g. buffer preparation, centrifugation, microscopy, etc.) and with specialized methods (e.g. enzyme detection and inhibition, immunoassays, protein electrophoresis, etc.). The successful candidate will be shown all necessary techniques but should have some familiarity with laboratory work. Interest in developmental biology and or biochemistry is a plus. The position can expand to full time in the summer. For further information, please forward notice of your interest and a CV/transcript to both Dr. E. P. Masler ([log in to unmask]), Nematology Laboratory, USDA/ARS, BARC, and Dr. C. R. R. Hooks ([log in to unmask]), Dept. of Entomology, UMD.
