A common myth is that suicide rates are higher in the winter and around the
holidays. In fact, suicide rates start to increase in spring and peak in
early summer. During this important time of the year, show support for
suicide prevention initiatives by joining Active Minds at Maryland, the
Help Center, and students from around campus to raise money for the
American Foundation for Suicide Prevention.

It couldn't be easier - the walk is ON CAMPUS and registration is FREE for
walkers (all walkers receive a free t-shirt). Come show your support on May
5 at 10AM by the sun-dial on the Mall as we walk to raise money for suicide
prevention programs. Register to walk or donate at:
http://afsp.donordrive.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=donorDrive.eventDetails&eventID=1858.
We hope to see you there!
