Its that time of year again when the University of Maryland's Hindu Students
Council holds its annual Holi Celebration!!! It will be held on on Saturday
April 9th from 12-3pm at the lower end of McKeldin Mall (towards the
Administration Building).
Holi, reflective of the diversity and rich mythology of Hinduism, has
multiple significances to the Hindu people. It celebrates the coming of
spring and the hope for a good harvest; it exemplifies the devotion of the
young Prahlad to Lord Vishnu; it celebrates the joyous relationship between
Krishna and Radha. Holi culturally represents the triumph of good over evil,
and serves to highlight honesty and virtue. Hindus all over the world gather
together to celebrate this bright, vivid holiday and UMD is no exception!
We will be having FREE FOOD and a LIVE DJ in addition to the beautiful
colors (non-toxic) and water that you can wonderfully throw at your dearest,
most loved friends!
GET THERE EARLY to make sure you have your share of fun!!
