AUI is a privately held gourmet food company located in the Washington, DC area (Gaithersburg, MD).  Founded in 1968, the Company imports, distributes, and co-packs over 1200 products from around the world. Its customers are leading hotels, restaurants, casinos, cruise lines, and manufacturers served with innovative, high quality products and solutions to their most demanding culinary challenges.  AUI operates a network of distribution centers across the U.S. AUI also serves selected International markets.  AUI has a national direct selling organization of over 40 sales professionals and over 115 employees in total.  As part of the company’s growth strategy, we are seeking a VP of IT.  This position will report to the Sr. VP, Finance and Operations, who reports to the CEO.

VP - IT Job Summary

AUI’s VP of Information Technology is primarily accountable for directing and coordinating the Company’s information technology activities in alignment with Corporate strategy, established financial principles, and governmental regulations.  Coordinates the operations and needs of the business with third party providers of managed hosting, help desk/operating support, and program maintenance and support.

The VP translates business needs into practical, scalable solutions (process and infrastructure refinements, enterprise platforms, hardware and software systems, telecommunications, computer applications, etc.) working to enhance the inter-relationships between systems arrangements and the business.

Directs departmental activities in accordance with best practices in management, strategic planning, business administration, budgeting, and resource supervision.

Recruits, hires, motivates, supervises, evaluates, and provides leadership to a high caliber staff.

Prepares and is accountable for the design and execution of detailed project plans with clear timeframes.  AUI is in the midst of upgrading AUI’s IT platform from AS400 to Microsoft Dynamics ERP and CRM; the VP of IT will lead this project with our third party provider.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

	• Experience with MS Great Plains, CRM required
	• Desired skills SQL DB management, Share Point
	• BS or MS in Computer Science or Equivalent
	• 10+ years of experience in IT with increasing Management accountability
	• Strong people and project management skills
	• Excellent time management and prioritization skills
	• Excellent written and oral communication skills
	• Strong analytical ability, and knowledge of network and network systems design, capacity planning, and error detection and resolution techniques
	• Ability to travel up to 20% of the time
