The Charles R Drew Pre-Med Society will be participating in an alternative
winter break trip to Durham, North Carolina from January 13th to January
19th.

We will be working with Habitat for Humanity to help build homes
for underprivileged families. This is a great way to take advantage of your
break in a way that is productive while boosting your resume.

We will be carpooling as a group of 20 and will be staying at Camp Royal
which is complete with dining facilities, an indoor basketball court,
lighted soccer field, and Jordan Lake which is 10 minutes away. The site
coordinator has told me that she will do her best to provide us with a few
meals (maybe 2 or 3) based on donations from the nearby community. We will
be cooking the rest of our meals ourselves after a quick trip to the
grocery store. That being said, we will be having several activities
planned throughout the duration of the trip including restaurants,
recreational activities, etc. Camp royal has a full kitchen so we will cook
and eat dinner together every night like a CRD family.

The Durham area also has museums, botanical gardens, bars, and several fun
locations.
