We have been able to secure NSF funding to support one undergraduate researcher on our amphibian project in Panama.  We are looking for somebody who is planning on going into field ecology or tropical biology, and one who has Spanish language skills.  They will be living at a rustic site in a national park, with limited electricity and cell phone service. They will be working under the guidance of Grace DiRenzo, one of my graduate student for 10 weeks at one of our sites in Central Panama.  They will be working with Grace on the ecology of tropical frogs, and will be expected to develop their own project during the summer in consultation with Grace and myself (I will be there for ~2-3 weeks).  Once they return to campus we expect that the student would continue to work with Grace and myself to write up their results for publication and a formal presentation.
