Donate those old computers/educational games to a disadvantaged child in DC!
Diya is an organization on campus, working in conjunction with Eliot-Hine Public Middle School in D.C., whose mission is to collect computers that are no longer being used and donate them to children in need. We hope that these computers will help to further the academic progress of those children who receive them by allowing them to further develop their technological skills, learn from the educational software that will be provided and by establishing a "Big Brothers, Big Sisters" like program in which the child develops a relationship with a student from UMCP.
We really need computers and educational software (math, science, typing games etc for middle-school kids) to donate to these children! So please look around for any old computers or educational software that you are not using anymore and would be kind enough to donate. Please email [log in to unmask] if you are able to donate a computer, want to be otherwise involved in the club or with any questions that you may have.
