Hey,

My name is Dan and I'm the campus organizer with MaryPIRG. MaryPIRG is a student-directed, student-funded advocacy group at UMD working to solve real social problems. We offer internships and volunteer opportunities to students who are interested in learning grassroots organizing skills while working with a professional staff of organizers and advocates. 

Currently we are working to: 
-Reduce our plastic bag consumption in Prince George's County
-Help Clean Up the Chesapeake Bay
-Fight Poverty in College Park and across the country
-Teach residents of College Park to be more energy efficient
-Cut wasteful federal government spending on unnecessary agriculture subsidies

If you want to learn more about getting involved, come to our Kickoff Meeting Thursday, Feb. 16th at 7pm in the STAMP Benjamin Banneker room. Free food will also be provided!
