VOLUNTEERS NEEDED
Student Medical Volunteers Needed

Obesity has proven to be
a destructive epidemic affecting our children, families, and healthcare
system
in the Maryland, Washington DC and Virginia regions and the nation. The
Healthier You Initiative (includes Healthier You Fit Kids Initiative) was
created
to motivate, empower, educate and provide accountability to residents as
they
strive to live a healthy lifestyle.

We will be hosting 3
different events at 3 different locations and need as many volunteers as
possible. We will be providing FREE manual blood pressure and body
composition
screenings and healthy lifestyle behavior modification consultation on
Saturday, April 20, 2013. You can choose from any of the following
locations:

· Fairland Aquatics Center, 9am-2pm
13950 Old Gunpowder Rd, Laurel, MD 20707
· Links Inc, 10am-1pm
4850 Blagden Ave. Northwest DC, 20011
· Holy Cross Hospital, 9am-2pm
1500 Forest Glen Rd Silver Spring, MD 20910

We still need (10-12)
student volunteers assist with providing screenings.
Attire: Black
sportswear (top and bottom). Bring white lab jacket if you own one.

If interested, please
send an email to Yusef Battle as soon as possible indicating the preferred
location you would like to volunteer at. Health related majors are
preferred
but we accept students from all fields. Previous knowledge is not
necessary. We
provide adequate training beforehand.

For interested students,
we are also offering long term volunteer and internship positions. Let us
know
if you would like to join our organization!
