The Lab of Molecular Research in the Department of Ophthalmology at
University of Maryland School of Medicine is looking for a research
technician who can join an exciting research team of both basic and
clinical researchers interested in curing early strokes, and reducing the
long-term damage from this disease. An interest in vascular flow
physiology is a plus. The successful applicant will either know, or be
capable of learning and applying new techniques of computerized stereology
(statistically valid cell quantification), molecular biological
techniques, stereosurgery, and immunohistology, as well as animal
electrophysiology. Some sterile solution and cell handling and processing
will be involved. Training will also be provided. Ideally, this is a
two-year commitment, by someone who is planning to go onto either further
academic research training or industry. Yearly salary negotiable +
benefits.
