Attention all Pre-Health student! Are you interested in spending a week in
Honduras with your fellow Terrapins? Looking for a volunteer experience in
medicine? Are you interested in practicing medicine *internationally? *If
you are looking for something to do in the summer/want medical and public
health experience/need community service, this is the PERFECT opportunity
for you! We are a student run organization that travels down to Central
America to provide aid to those who do not have access to basic resources.
Here is a video of our brigade from last year:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T9lQdL0zKVY&
*Where:* Honduras
*When:* August 19 - 25
*What you will do:* Shadow doctors, take vitals, assist with dental
procedures, work in the pharmacy, teach Hondurans about healthy living. No
previous experience is necessary! This is geared towards pre-health and
public health majors, but anyone can come on this trip.
Of course, it’s not all work. We explore the country, have a day for
shopping, play with kids at the orphanage and even have a fiesta night
(with a DJ!). We stay at the beautiful Rapaco Ranch.
*Cost:* The program fee is $750 and includes all meals, lodging, and
in-country travel. The plane ticket price depends on when we book. In
total, expect to pay about $1500 (program + roundtrip plane ticket) at most.
If interested please fill out this short google form and we will be in
touch with you.
