Interested in working for a division of one of the world's premier research universities?!?! Currently hiring a full-time lab technician in Laurel, MD. Must-Haves
- Education: minimum of AA degree
- 1-3 years of relevant experience in managing facilities, resources, inventory, and/or labs.
- Ability to work with individual lab managers and other staff members to ensure all lab related work is completed smoothly and satisfactorily.
- Strong working knowledge of MS Windows and MS Office.
-Must be capable of lifting 50 pound objects to a height of 6 feet or more

Pluses
-AA or BS in science field.
-Prior work experience within science/research labs.

Daily responsibilities:
Provide support for QTC group laboratories. Majority of the responsibilities will be focused on equipment management; supporting laboratory test and evaluations projects, maintaining equipment inventory, assisting in preparing equipment for field tests, coordinating calibration of equipment and maintaining calibration records. Assisting in coordinating equipment repair, and acquiring new equipment as directed. The rest of the responsibilities will be split between the following: Stockroom management - assisting the management of the Micro-Aero stockroom, preforming biannual inventory, replenishing supplies, and completing materials requisition forms; Laboratory management - maintaining training records for personnel working or that have access to Bldg 12 SCT labs; HES Compliance - work with other staff and HES to coordinate Biological and chemical inventory for all labs, including updating electronic and paper MSDS, assisting lab staff in coordination of bio-safety cabinets, chemical hoods, and biller bank changes. And lastly, conducting weekly safety inspections of eyewashes, maintaining contamination controls, and cleaning and processing glassware.
