POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT
Student Assistant
Full-time, summer months
Description:
Positions are available for undergraduate assistants (paid interns) to assist with multiple field studies that examine the direct and indirect effects of cover cropping and reduced tillage on soil quality and health, net greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions and other environmental parameters in organic cropping systems. Specific field duties will include helping to collect data on arthropod numbers, plant and seed density, GHG emissions, plant productivity, and assist with plot maintenance. Some additional, tasks may include maintenance of plants in the greenhouse and fields, sorting of samples in the laboratory, and data entry. Opportunity to receive classroom credits also exists with this position.
Qualifications:
Ability to work outdoors and an interest in field research.
