Description:
The CCNL conducts both basic and applied neuroimaging work with humans using
EEG and MRI modalities. Basic work focuses on brain mechanisms underlying
emotion and cognition using EEG, MRI, and other psychophysiological measures,
as well as the development of novel time-frequency signal processing
approaches to neuroimaging data analysis. The applied work focuses on
understanding how functional brain activity is disrupted for clinical
problems such as substance abuse, aggression, depression, and anxiety, with a
strong focus on how behavior in these brain mechanisms be changed through
treatment. This work can be relevant to students from a variety of
disciplines, including psychology, biology, neuroscience, and engineering.
We are looking for several new RAs for a series of new projects starting in
the summer!
Opportunities/Responsibilities:
- EEG and MRI data collection training
- Signal processing training
- Statistical data analysis training
- Develop new experiments
- Prepare research presentations
- Course credit
Suggested Prerequisites:
- No previous experience required
- 3.5 GPA (within major area OK)
- Highly motivated for graduate study
- Two years available to develop a strong research record (1st and 2nd year
students are encouraged to apply as well)
