HEALTH PROFESSIONS SCHOOL RECRUITMENT FAIR

The Health Professions Advising Office at the University of Maryland hosts an annual Health Professions School Recruitment Fair in April. This event is open and free to all local university and college students. Each year we host close to 60 schools of medicine, dentistry, optometry, podiatry and a variety of Allied Health and post-bacc. programs. In addition to this main event, we will have the following presentations as well!

PERSONAL STATEMENT PANEL
2pm, Grand Ballroom Lounge
Gain first-hand insight from admissions representatives from medical and dental schools- Univ of Central Florida, Univ of Michigan, and Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine (PCOM), along with the Univ of Maryland Dental School regarding do's and don'ts for personal statements. If you are applying this summer to medical/dental school, this is a must attend.

MD/PHD BREAKOUT SESSION
4:15pm, Grand Ballroom Lounge
During the Health Professions Recruitment Fair, the HPAO will host a breakout session about MD/PhD programs. Panelists will be Michael Donnenberg from the University of Maryland, School of Medicine Medical Scientist Training Program and Sharon Welling from the Johns Hopkins University Medical Scientist Training Program.

DR. MILFORD FOXWELL, UMDSOM
6:30p, Grand Ballroom Lounge
After the fair, join us for a talk with Dr. Milford Foxwell from the UMD School of Medicine! Dr. Foxwell, the Associate Dean of Admissions at the University of Maryland School of Medicine will speak with students regarding how best to prepare for medical school and the application process. Dr. Foxwell is always direct, realistic and entertaining. This is one you should not miss, regardless of what year you are in college or when you plan to apply.
