Subject: Field Prospecting Internship with Illumina

Description:

Job/Opportunity Description:
Basic Function and Scope of the Position: Disseminates Illumina information
(Promotions, technotes, product pamphlets, brochures, data sheets) to
relevant areas of academic campuses, biotechnology parks, and publically
accessible government facilities. Provides sales lead feedback, competitive
information, and other sales related info to the Inside Sales Rep, TAM, or
Specialist. Provides sales contact information to leads and potential
customers. Engages in basic information exchange regarding Illumina products
and field sales team members. Avoids known Illumina contacts and focuses on
generating leads from new prospects.

Tasks and Responsibilities: •	Driving distance travel to area academic,
biotechnology parks, publically accessible government facilities. •	Walks
various campuses, knocks on doors, and engages in simple conversations to
gauge interest in Illumina technology •	Be able to commit to 10+ door
knocks/ visits / hr for a 40 hr. work week. •	Assertive but professional
engangment with potential customers to disseminate information on Illumina
Technology •	Must be have ability and be willing to walk area campuses for
up to 30 – 40 hrs / week. •	Works collaboratively with TAM, Specialists,
ISR and ISM to establish new customers and maintaining/growing existing
customer accounts. All listed tasks and responsibilities are deemed as
essential functions to this position; however, business conditions may
require reasonable accommodations for additional task and responsibilities.

Job Location: Maryland

Preferred Educational Background: •	Undergraduate Jr. or Sr. in biology or
related science. Preferred Experiential Background: •	Great customer
service skills and experience •	Efficient time management skills with the
ability to stay focused on primary business objectives •	Entrepreneurial,
tenacious, proactive and disciplined. •	Self-motivated and well organized
•	Great communication skills. •	Outstanding listening, verbal and written
communication skills. •	Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to
communicate effectively with a wide range of customer personality types.
Ability to interact well with highly educated research scientist customers.
•	Team goal oriented
