Subject: US Fish and Wildlife Service internship

Description:
One non-paid position available at the US Fish and Wildlife Falls Church (VA)
location.

Location: 5275 Leesburg Pike, Falls Church, VA 22041
Duration: Spring Semester (extensions may be granted based on evaluation,
Branch needs, and intern’s schedule)
Hours: Minimum 8 hours/week during normal business hours (Monday – Friday
6:30a-5:30p); days and times of the week are flexible.
Qualifications: Good communication/writing skills; knowledge or enrollment in
a wildlife biology, environmental science and policy, ecology, or similar
degree program; experience with basic computer applications
The intern will assist the Branch with conducting a species status review as
required under the Endangered Species Act (ESA). This includes literature
searches, analyzing biological data, and writing biological arguments that
will be used in formulating, supporting, or justifying Agency decisions
related to the ESA. Other duties may include providing administrative
support, development of outreach materials, assistance with reporting
requirements, and attending on-site or offsite meetings or trainings.

federal and international laws governing wildlife and experience in
scientific analysis and writing.
