Subject: Adele's Circle of Women Scholarship - 2016

Description:
The Adele’s Circle of Women Scholarship is intended to help deserving
students, who advance the role of women and girls in their academic studies,
extracurricular activities, and/or hope to do such in their professional
lives. The scholarship seeks to aid emerging student leaders and/or recognize
accomplished student leaders. The scholarship will help students manage costs
associated with textbook expenses and related tuition costs, providing a $250
award to a current UMD undergraduate or graduate student. The Adele’s
Circle of Women Scholarship, established in 2015, is funded by several Terp
alumnae.

Eligibility Requirements:

Current Full-Time UMD Student (undergraduate or graduate)

Five (5) $250 scholarships

Emerging Student Leaders

One (1) First Year Student
One (1) Second Year Student

Accomplished Student Leaders

One (1) Third Year Student
One (1) Fourth Year Student
One (1) Graduate Student

In good academic standing with the University (GPA 3.25 or higher)
In good standing with University of Code of Conduct
Demonstrates strong work ethic and positive attitude

be considered for a 2016-2017 award.  Applicants must attend the Adele’s
Circle of Women spring event – HerStory.  Scholarships will be announced at
HerStory on March 2, 2015 in the Stamp Student Union.  Scholarship awards
will be distributed via student accounts.
