Subject: Chronic Care Management Internship

Description:
Capital Coordinated Medicine is seeking pre-med or pre-professional school
students for an internship in our Kensington, MD office. This is not a
clinical role and will not include any direct patient contact, but does
include the opportunity to learn a great deal about chronic medical
conditions, Medicare, practice management, and the healthcare system as a
whole. Our practice is one of the only in the DC area that performs house
calls for patients with multiple severe chronic medical conditions. You can

Responsibilities
- Answers the telephone lines with courtesy and professionalism
- Enters patient data/information into EMR or tracking database
- Collects, assesses, and triages all patient related requests (fax, email,
and letter) to the clinical coordinator or provider
- Coordinates with other staff to resolve and research patient accounts
- Assists with related special projects, as required
- Responsive to patient questions; knows where and how to obtain
information/answers
- Other duties as assigned

Requirements
- Must be an undergraduate student pursuing medical/dental/professional
degree or other health-related degrees such as nursing.
- Ability to speak, write, and read English fluently; ability to communicate
clearly and effectively both orally and in writing
- Ability to speak clearly and persuasively in both positive and negative
situations
- Ability to speak effectively before employees of the organization and
patients as needed
- Must be dependable, enthusiastic, and able to multitask

Benefits
- This internship is paid at $10/hr
- Possibility of a letter of recommendation for medical/professional school
- Possibility of full-time employment over the summer
