Subject: Crowdfunding application due Jan. 10

Description:
Launch UMD is now accepting applications for a special round of crowdfunding
projects in conjunction with Maryland Day on April 25. In addition to the
usual visibility provided to projects through the Launch website, the
projects chosen for this round will get extra exposure on Maryland Day by
making a live pitch to  promote their projects. The live pitch will occur
twice on Hornbake Plaza and teams will be required to speak about their
project onstage for less than three minutes. The project team that gets the
highest number of gifts – not the most money – on April 25th will be
rewarded with an extra $1,500.

Applications are available at http://ter.ps/launchapp. Applications are due
Feb. 27, with the program likely running during the month of April.

What could you do with $5,000 or $10,000 or more, to support a student
project, trip, activity, lab, course or competition? Do you have any projects
coming up or things that you dream of doing but just don’t have the
necessary funding? A new crowdfunding effort at UMD, called Launch UMD, could
provide the funding you need!
