Subject: FDA Computer Science and Statistics Paid Internship

Description:
The Hematology Lab at the Food and Drug Administration in White Oak, MD
(roughly 10 minute drive from the UMCP campus), under the direction of Dr.
Chava Kimchi-Sarfaty, is hiring a highly motivated individual to take part in
projects related to bioinformatics and computational biology in the lab. This
opportunity is a paid full-time position and a great opportunity for a
candidate to gain significant research experience.

Applicants must have graduated with a bachelor’s degree in computer
science, mathematics, or statistics after this upcoming spring semester. The
candidate is expected to start sometime between May and/or the upcoming
summer. Candidates should be comfortable with basic programming code, excel
applications and statistical tests. This candidate will have the unique
opportunity to work directly with genomic sequencing data and work on various
projects within the lab. This is a great multidisciplinary research
experience and a great resume-building opportunity, especially for
individuals who are exercising a gap year.
