Subject: Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) Research Assistant Job

Description:
The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau’s (CFPB) Office of Research (OR)
is currently seeking Research Assistant candidates majoring in the following
fields:  computer science, economics, finance, mathematics, and statistics.
(Candidates with a background or interest in consumer financial markets are
also encouraged to apply.)

I am the Research Assistant Coordinator of the Office of Research in the
Research, Markets, and Regulation (RMR) division.  We hope that you can help
us quickly identify candidates by forwarding this announcement (see attached
flier) to students that may be interested in a career with CFPB and/or to
colleagues that may know of other students that may be interested.


What we’re looking for:

We are asking you to identify candidates that possess a relentless commitment
to professional and organizational excellence.  Strong written and verbal
communication skills are a must, as is the demonstrated ability to work in a
fast-paced multidisciplinary environment.  Successful candidates will have a
proven track record of academic excellence in one of the following areas:
economics, mathematics, statistics, or computer science.  Experience in R,
SAS, or Stata programming as well as Excel, is also key.

About the Office of Research (OR):

The Office of Research is in the Research, Markets, and Regulations (RMR)
division of the Bureau. RMR is responsible for monitoring consumer financial
markets, conducting research to improve our understanding of consumer
behavior, and developing and revising regulations covering consumer financial
products and services. The Office works collaboratively with a number of
other offices across the Bureau, providing analytic support in the areas of
policy development, regulation, consumer education, supervision, and
