AMSA
   and the Pre-Med Society host Dr. Aaron Saguil, Assistant Dean for  
Admissions
and Recruitment at the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences.
Dr. Saguil will talk about USU, HPSP, the distinction between the two and why
one might choose one or
   the other. As an admissions dean, he will also discuss broad attributes  
that
medical schools consider when holistically assessing medical school
applicants. He is an engaging and articulate speaker and there should be
something for everyone interested in medicine.

AMCAS presentation on 2015 application

Northeast Diversity Collaborative

   officers from 5 regional medical schools and one dental school will visit

to share their wisdom on the admissions process, the personal statement, the
relevance of GPA and MCAT, post-bacc programs, financing medical education
and more. The topics are general
   and broadly applicable for students interested in all health professions  
and

Health Professions Recruitment Fair

   the Date! Please check back for details closer to the event. The Health
Professions Advising Office at the University of Maryland will be hosting our
annual Health Professions School Recruitment Fair. This event is open and
free to all local university and
   college students. Each year we host close to 60 schools of medicine,
dentistry, optometry, podiatry and a variety of Allied Health and post-bacc.
programs. To see a list of the schools expected to attend, click on the

Equity at the University of Maryland, will speak on racial and ethnic health

Affordable Care Act Lecture-Dr. Karoline Mortensen

Description
The
   Pre-Medical Society will host a lecture on the Affordable Care Act offered
by Dr. Karoline Mortensen, Assistant Professor in the School of Public
Health. (http://www.popcenter.umd.edu/mprc-associates/karoline).
   Dr. Mortensen studies vulnerable populations and their interactions with
health insurance and health care utilization. Students interested in any
health career should be conversant on this topic and plan to attend.
