Description

BASIC DESCRIPTION:

The Computer Science Intern at Scanar is designed to give a student the
hands-on exposure to day-to-day operations and assist with projects and
research that bring in cost savings or revenue opportunity for Scanar. We are
looking for a self-directed, results-oriented, TEAM PLAYER, and customer
focused individual.

Position Requirements

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Strong organizational, interpersonal, and technical knowledge
In at least their junior year of school in pursuit of a software or computer
engineering degree·
Minimum GPA 3.0
Proficiency in Object Oriented Programming

DESIRABLE EXPERIENCE IN EMBEDDED SOFTWARE, MACHINE INTERFACE, CONTROLS,
DIGITAL COMMUNICATIONS, AND REAL TIME OPERATING SYSTEM

Description:

Scanar is seeking talented Software Engineer Interns to help build, and
enhance highly available, scalable, real time systems used by our customers
worldwide.

You will get the opportunity to support small deliverables of projects
through all aspects of the software development lifecycle including scope and
work estimation, architecture and design, coding and unit testing. You will
get a chance to exercise your judgment in determining and recommending the
best designs based on customer business objectives, timelines and other
resource constraints. You will be challenged and provided a tremendous
opportunity for growth in a customer facing, fast paced, agile environment.

Key Responsibilities:

- Participate in the full software development lifecycle, working within
broadly defined parameters

- Directly support the delivery of a small part of a system or application

- Work closely with other senior engineers to develop the best technical
design and approach for new product development

- Build software solutions where the solution is not always well defined but
always considers the customer first

Qualifications:

-Pursuing a bachelor's Degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or
related field.GPA of 3.0 or greater.

-Experience with at least one programming language (Java, C++, C#, etc.)

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

- Familiarity with basic web technologies including HTML, CSS, XML, SOAP,
WSDL, REST, JSON, and JavaScript.

-Familiarity with web application technologies, such as Apache Tomcat, JBoss,
etc.

-Knowledge of a version control system (e.g., Git)

-Knowledge of Agile Development methodologies.

-Familiarity with multiple operating systems (Mac OSX, Windows, LINUX, etc.).

-Familiarity with at least one Relational Database Management System (Oracle,
MySQL, PostgreSQL, SQL Server, etc.).

-Proficiency with MS Office Products (Word, Excel, Visio, & PowerPoint).

-Familiarity with NoSql databases (Apache Accumulo, MongoDB, etc.)
