Subject: Student Aide 2015-2016 needed

Description:
Student Aide 2015-2016

A part-time paid research support intern (laboratory aide) will be available
this fall (2015) for a high achieving undergraduate student. While this is a
University of Maryland appointment, the work will be performed at the U. S.
D. A. Beltsville Agricultural Research Center next to Ikea. Continuation is
anticipated for 2016 Spring academic year. Research is on nematode parasites
of plants, and the successful candidate should have a strong academic record
and some familiarity with basic laboratory activities (reagent and sample
preparation, centrifugation, electrophoresis, microscopy, etc.). Thorough
training in more advanced methods of protein and peptide analysis, tissue
fractionation, parasite behavior, and the use of specialized software, will
be provided. Interest in developmental or cell biology is a plus and
candidate should be capable of working a minimum of 15 hours weekly.
Potential to earn class credit is possible. For further information, please
forward notice of your interest, curriculum vitae, and transcript to both Dr.
E. P. Masler ([log in to unmask]), Nematology Laboratory, USDA/ARS,
BARC, and Dr. C. R. R. Hooks ([log in to unmask]), Dept. of Entomology, UMD.
