Subject: Phi Delta Epsilon International Medical Fraternity
Description:
To All Pre-Med/D.O./M.D/Ph.D Freshmen, Juniors, and Seniors:
A medical fraternity may be coming to the University of Maryland, College
Park.
My name is Mingran Yu, and I am a Junior Physiology and Neurobiology major on
the pre-medical track. I recently stumbled upon a fraternity called Phi Delta
Epsilon, and I found out that it the oldest medical fraternity in the nation,
and only one of two left in the United States. Phi Delta Epsilon, or PhiDE
(prounounced fye-dee-ee) is an international medical fraternity that was
founded in 1904 at Cornell University Medical College. Since then, we have
spread to over seven different countries at hundreds of different schools.
I was recently approved by the International Board to start an interest group
here at College Park. If you would like to know how to help bring PhiDE to
UMD, or would like to know more about the fraternity, come out to one of two
information sessions that will be held this coming Thursday and Friday in
Tawes Hall 1100 at 7:00 PM.

And finally to get you excited:
- Nearly 92% of members get into medical school, with 100% in some chapters.
- Membership is for life, meaning that you will become a part of a network
with current doctors and medical students
- We are a medical fraternity, not a pre-health or pre-med fraternity or
society. Our members are current undergraduates, medical students, residents,
and practicing physicians.
- If you join, you will be a part of the founding class.
