Subject: Support CMNS Student Crowdfunding Campaigns!
Description:
Support your fellow CMNS students' crowdfunding efforts! A gift of $1 or $5
will help these students reach their goals!
Send UMD Society of Physics Students to PhysCon 2016
Nine physics undergraduates need your support to attend the 2016 Quadrennial
Physics Congress (PhysCon), the largest gathering of undergraduate physics
students in the world, on Nov. 3-5, 2016. PhysCon consists of three days of
frontier physics, professional development workshops and networking. To
support this project, visit https://www.launch.umd.edu/project/2800.
Help Terp Students Send an Experiment to Space
Not knowing exactly how and why bacteria behave differently in space poses a
serious risk for astronaut safety. Three biological sciences undergraduates
aim to understand how bacteria change the expression of their genes in space
by sending an experiment to the International Space Station in February 2017.
This crowdfunding campaign will provide funding for experiments, data
analysis and publication after the students receive the experiment back from
space. Your support will also allow them to be in launch control to supervise
deployment of their experiment in Cape Canaveral, Florida. To support this
project, visit https://www.launch.umd.edu/project/2863.
Support UMD's JHacks Student Hackathon
Most hackathons are held on Saturdays, when students in many religious
communities refrain from the use of technology, leaving members of these
communities unable to participate in these popular and educational events.
JHacks is a student-run hackathon for students of all denominations and
scheduled with religious concerns in mind. With your contribution, the team
hopes to host 500 students this year. To support this project, visit
https://www.launch.umd.edu/project/2862.
