Description: For the last faculty talk of the semester, ASM and co-hosts AMSA
and UMD Pre-Med society are happy to host Dr. James Kaper of the UMD School
of Medicine. Dr. Kaper is a renowned microbiologist and Maryland graduate. He
researched extensively on V. cholerae and E. coli, developing the first
recombinant V. cholerae bacterial vaccine licensed for use in humans. Dr.
Kaper serves as Senior Associate Dean for Academic Affairs and Professor &
Chair at the University of Maryland School of Medicine's Department of
Microbiology & Immunology. Come and hear a great talk by a distinguished
