Subject: Research Associate, Assistant Jobs with Center on Budget and Policy
Priorities
Description:
Research Associate or Assistant - Federal Fiscal team
The Center is a non-profit research organization with a national reputation
for rigorous analysis of fiscal policies and an ability to influence policy
debates.
The RA will work on current federal budget policy issues, including those
related to Social Security retirement and disability benefits. The Center
has a particular focus on how policies affect lower-income families and
individuals, and examines the fiscal implications of such proposals, how
their benefits would be distributed across different income groups, and the
extent to which they are likely to achieve their stated objectives.
The position involves collecting and analyzing data, developing written
analyses and graphic presentations of findings, examining pending legislative
and policy options, and using academic research and other resources. The RA
will help prepare reports and analyses that pertain to major decisions
pending before Congress and the Executive Branch. The RA will also help with
projects for Policy Futures, a new Center initiative that focuses on medium-
and long-term policy challenges, particularly the link between budget choices
and the need to boost economic security and opportunity for low- and
moderate-income individuals and families. In addition, the RA will respond
to information requests by policymakers, the media, and other organizations.
The RA will also perform other duties as required.
