Subject: Gilman Scholarship for Study Abroad - Pell Grant Recipients

New Info Sessions!!!

Are you thinking about studying abroad in summer 2017, fall 2017, or academic
year 2017-18?  Are you a US CITIZEN receiving a PELL GRANT (a federal
need-based educational grant)?

Learn about the GILMAN INTERNATIONAL SCHOLARSHIP, which provides up to $5,000
for study abroad students with financial need who receive Pell Grants.  In
the last year and a half, nearly 50% of University of Maryland students that
applied won Gilman Scholarships!  We highly encourage you to start early, so
you can submit a strong application!

Two information sessions added: Please RSVP to [log in to unmask] and indicate
which session you plan to attend.  If you cannot attend either of these,
please email us at the same address.

Eligibility Requirements: US Citizens - Freshmen, Sophomores, Juniors,
Seniors - All Majors - Must be studying abroad for at least 4 weeks - Must
have FAFSA demonstrated financial need and be receiving a Pell Grant.

Application Deadline: March 7, 2017

The Gilman International Scholarship Program offers 1,700 scholarships of up
to $5,000 to students of limited financial means to pursue academic studies
world-wide. Such international study is intended to better prepare U.S.
students to assume significant roles in an increasingly
global economy and interdependent world. Programs must be at least 4 weeks in
length.
