Description:
Unsung Heroes of UMD is an organization that focuses on promoting awareness &
appreciation for the workers on college campuses who work hard and keep the
university running behind-the-scenes but often go unrecognized and
unappreciated. We highlight the workers on social media – Humans of New
York style.

These unsung heroes include Janitors, Food & Service Workers, Construction
Workers, Security Guards, etc. We interviews these workers and shares their
personal stories in hopes of highlighting their portraits of humanity through
photography and dialogue. We want to be able to “make visible the
Invisibles.” If interested in applying for a position in Unsung Heroes of
