Subject: University of Maryland Baltimore Phase 1 Clinical Trial for
Investigative HIV-1 Vaccine - Participants needed

Description:
The Institute of Human Virology at the University of Maryland Baltimore is
looking for volunteers to participate in a phase 1 randomized, placebo
controlled,
modified double-blinded clinical trial for an investigative HIV subunit
vaccine. This trial
is designed to evaluate the safety and immunogenicity of a novel HIV subunit
vaccine
candidate. Investigators at the Institute of Human Virology created this
vaccine as a
potential future strategy to help prevent HIV infection. Volunteers will be
compensated
for time and travel expenses. Volunteers must be healthy, 18-45 years of age,
HIV
negative, able to travel to Baltimore, and have never previously participated
in an HIV or
DNA vaccine trial.
