Position: Computer & Information Security Analyst 1

Appointment Type: Full-Time Regular
Location: Oak Ridge, TN

PURPOSE: To perform daily network security monitoring such as
reviewing/analyzing alerts
(anti-virus, intrusion detection/prevention, etc.) as well as assisting with
duties such as incident
response, log analysis, vulnerability scanning, and continuous monitoring.
This position will
validate security controls for assessments and provide security guidance,
advice, and
consultation to ORAU programs and departments.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
-Perform daily network security monitoring tasks such as reviewing and
analyzing
intrusion detection/prevention and anti-virus alerts and searching for
indicators of
compromise.
-Assist with technical reviews and vulnerability assessments on all ORAU
systems,
applications, and interfaces. Use scanning and intrusion detection tools to
test for
vulnerabilities and detect unauthorized access. Maintain records of
reviews/scans,
follow-up to ensure remediation, and develop reports as required.
-Support the Information System Security Officer (ISSO) to ensure that the
appropriate
operational security posture is maintained for information.
-Aid in conducting regular security assessments/audits to ensure validation
and
verification of compliance with all security requirements. Ensure that
systems and
software are being operated securely and are upgraded to ensure appropriate
protection. Provide cyber security consulting services to developers, system
administrators, and users.
-Assist Cyber Security staff with incident response activities. Participate
in incident
response training and on-call rotation.
-Act as a backup administrator for applications used by Cyber Security. Aid
in the
development and maintenance of process documentation.
-Perform other duties, including, but not limited to administrative functions
and team
participation.
