JIFSAN is accepting applications for internships to begin in the summer
The JIFSAN internship program, a collaboration between the U.S. Food and Drug
Administration and the University of Maryland, has several positions
available beginning in the summer of 2018. Most positions will continue
through the 2018-2019 academic year. JIFSAN interns must have completed at
least two college semesters and be enrolled as undergraduate students at the
University of Maryland, College Park during the time of their internship.
Interns are expected to work 30 hours/week during the summer of 2018 and part
time (8-10 hours/week) during the academic year. Current freshmen,
sophomores and juniors are encouraged to apply. Students who plan to graduate
in December 2018 are generally not eligible. After a 100-hour volunteer
commitment, interns are eligible for a paid internship at $10/hour.

JIP-301: Literature review and data analysis to inform activities on lead
(Pb) for the U.S. delegation to the Codex Committee on Contaminants in Foods
(CCCF) and for improving our understanding of the influence of country of

JIP-302: Evaluation and optimization of the Food and Drug Administration
(FDA) validated method for detection of Cyclospora cayetanensis in Mexican
and Mediterranean dishes containing cilantro, basil, parsley and/or mint
