Subject: Girls Excelling in Math and Science (G.E.M.S.)

Description:
Girls Excelling in Math and Science (G.E.M.S.) is an initiative for middle
school girls of Prince George's County designed to enhance math and science
skills and increase interest in STEM career fields. The G.E.M.S. experience
includes Saturday workshops facilitated by UMD students that encourage
leadership, enhance science and mathematics learning through hands-on
activities, and highlight the contributions of women scientists and
engineers.

G.E.M.S. is currently seeking undergraduate and graduate volunteer mentors to
develop the next generation of scientists and engineers during Saturday
workshops that will take place at libraries in Prince George's County from
10:00 AM - 1:00 PM. Mentors can choose the dates that they would like to
participate.
