Subject: Presentation by the Surgeon General of the Navy (sponsored by DEM)

Description:
Delta Epsilon Mu is honored to be hosting an inspiring presentation open to
UMD's entire pre-health community! Our guest, Vice-Admiral Faison, is the
current Surgeon General of the Navy, as well as an experienced pediatrician.
This grants him an immense wealth of knowledge pertaining to the medical
disciplines, public health administrative policy, and the realm of military
medicine.

He will be discussing his path from a prospective minister to overseeing the
wellness of hundreds of thousands of individuals. Since then, he has seen
firsthand the impact that international aid can have, as he has placed a
revitalized focus on naval global health initiatives and humanitarian efforts
during his tenure. Additionally, he will debate the various virtues required
for a successful physician, the best ways to navigate applying &
matriculating into medical/graduate school, and highlight the differences
between civilian and military medical schools.

This should prove to be a very exciting educational opportunity for all
students within the Life Sciences disciplines! As UMD's only pre-health
professional fraternity, we encourage students from all pre-professional
tracks to attend.
