Subject: NBA Hackathon

Description:
The NBA is hosting its annual Hackathon and we would love for students and
alumni that are interested in data, analytics and technology to apply! This
is an opportunity to leverage NBA statistics and to showcase programming,
visualization and data skills in front of many distinguished judges as well
as NBA team and league office hiring managers. Below is some additional
information and background regarding the event.

On September 22nd, 2018, students, statisticians, developers and engineers
will take part in the third annual NBA Hackathon. The event will be held in
the greater NY/NJ area. The 2018 NBA Hackathon will feature two tracks,
basketball analytics and business analytics. Teams accepted to the Hackathon
will build tools to solve important and challenging problems in the NBA.
Their work will be presented to a panel of expert judges and an audience of
NBA personnel, media, invited guests and the other competitors. Prizes will
be awarded to the top three teams of each track, with a grand prize that will
include lunch with NBA Commissioner, Adam Silver.

The NBA Hackathon is open only to current undergraduate and graduate students
studying at accredited universities in the United States or Canada (excluding
Quebec), or those who graduated from an accredited university and reside in
the United States or Canada (excluding Quebec). Only invited guests and
competitors will be allowed to attend.
