Subject: Girls Excelling in Math and Science (G.E.M.S.)

Description:
Girls Excelling in Math and Science (G.E.M.S.) is an initiative for middle
school girls of Prince George's County designed to enhance math and science
skills and increase interest in STEM career fields. The G.E.M.S. experience
includes weekly after-school enrichment sessions facilitated by UMD students
that encourage leadership, enhance science and mathematics learning through
hands-on activities, and highlight the contributions of women scientists and
engineers.

G.E.M.S. is currently seeking undergraduate and graduate mentors to develop
the next generation of scientists and engineers at local Middle Schools from
October to December. All are welcome to participate.

Mentors need to be available at one of the following times on a weekly basis:
Buck Lodge Middle School - Thursdays: 3:00 pm - 5:30 PM
Martin Luther King Middle School - Tuesdays: 4:00 PM - 6:00 PM
