Subject: Free Pizza and Talk by Dr. Sasha Ukhorskiy (Johns Hopkins APL)
Description:
Join the Society of Physics Students on Tuesday, Nov. 13th at 5:45 pm for
free pizza and a career talk given by Dr. Aleksandr Ukhorskiy. As an alumnus,
Dr. Ukhorskiy obtained his PhD in Physics at the University of Maryland,
College Park in 2003. Currently, he is the Project Scientist of the Van Allen
Probes NASA Mission and a Principal Professional Staff Member at Johns
Hopkins University Applied Physics Lab (JHU/APL). With over 35 publications,
his research focuses on energetic particles in space, magnetospheric plasma
waves, and nonlinear processes in space plasmas. Dr. Ukhorskiy's talk will
focus on his time in graduate school, as well as the transition and current
work at JHU/APL.
