Subject: Anti-Semitism programming planning committee interest
Description:
In the next few months, Diversity Training & Education in the Office of
Diversity & Inclusion will launch a programming series to address
anti-Semitism through the lens of anti-racism. The series would involve 4
programs (one in Fall and three in Spring semester), which would focus
generally on the following broad themes:
* Histories of anti-Semitism and resistance
* Understanding anti-Semitism intersectionally
* Unpacking anti-Semitism vs. anti-Israel - how to view this through an
anti-racist lens
*Jewish narratives on UMD’s campus
Our next steps are to assemble a small planning committee of students, staff,
faculty, and alumni, who serve or who are a part of the Jewish community at
UMD, to collaboratively shape and execute this programming.
The first planning committee meeting is Oct 20th, 12pm - 1pm. This initial
meeting would serve as a space to bring folks together and share feedback
about how this programming might best serve our campus.
If you are interested or know others who might be, please fill out the
planning committee interest form at the following link:
