Subject: Part-time position for student web developer
Description:
Do you live in your text editor? Are you always on the lookout for a killer
new Javascript library on npm? The Joint Quantum Institute is seeking a
part-time Javascript developer to join our science communication team (up to
15 hours/week, more hours may be available during the summer months). The
student assistant will primarily help build a web application aimed at
explaining quantum physics to informal learners. Support for this position is
through an NSF Advancing Informal STEM Learning program. This position has a
flexible schedule.
Requirements:
-familiarity with the Node ecosystem
-experience building websites with React
-knowledge of Webpack or a similar bundling tool
-comfort with a Github workflow
-ability to troubleshoot issues independently
-excellent communication and organizational skills
-excellent time-management skills
-ability to work independently and as part of a team
Desired
-familiarity with Javascript testing frameworks
-an eye for design
