MARK YOUR CALENDARS: Our information session/orientation to kick-off the
program will be Monday, SEPTEMBER 16th, from 6:00-8:00PM in BRB1101.

You’ll be part of Terps in Space, a program where students compete by
writing experiment proposals to test the effect of microgravity on a
phenomenon of their choice. The winning proposal is granted the program
funding to FLY their experiment to THE INTERNATIONAL SPACE STATION!
Astronauts will interact with your mini-experiment as you instruct during the
4-6 weeks it is in low orbit and then it will return to Earth for further
analysis and conclusions you make.

Student teams are made up of 2-4 students. You can assemble your own team
ahead of time and provide us names of your teammates or sign up as an
individual and we will assign you to a team!
Each team will be assigned a research mentor, a UMD faculty member or
graduate student, who will give weekly advice on proposal writing and
experiment design.

Don’t miss out on this opportunity! It will enhance your experimental
design skills, test your implementation abilities, and give you the
experience of a lifetime! Winners and finalists are also provided the
opportunity to present at the National Student Spaceflight Experiment Program
Conference at the Smithsonian Air and Space Museum in Washington, D.C. in
the Spring! Sign-up now! If you have any questions, email us at
