Description:
The Waterbird Society, an international scientific, not-for-profit
organization dedicated to the study and conservation of waterbirds is
planning to hold its annual meeting at the University of Maryland Eastern
Shore (UMES) this coming November. To further its efforts to increase
diversity and inclusion in the natural resource sciences, the Society is
partnering with UMES to offer a full-day program on Friday, November 8, 2019,
to teach students (undergraduate and graduate) about the Society and
opportunities in natural resource sciences. Student interested in ecology,
forestry, wildlife conservation, wildlife management, human ecology, marine
biology, terrestrial wetlands, sustainability, and other similar fields
should apply.

We are seeking 50 student participants from the University of Maryland (UMD).
Registration, transportation and lunch will be provided for all students.
All registrants will receive a letter to excuse you from class on Friday,
November 8. If you plan to attend, consult with your professors as soon as
possible to arrange to complete all work you may miss on November 8.

If you are interested, register at https://agnr.umd.edu/student-registration.
The deadline to register has been extended to October 18, 2019. Please
remember, this opportunity is limited to only 50 students. Register now!
Preference will be given to juniors and seniors, but we encourage all to
apply.
