Apply to be a Guided Study Sessions (GSS) Leader today! Course offerings for
the Spring 2020 semester may include BCHM 463, BSCI 160, BSCI 170, BSCI 201,
BSCI 202, BSCI 207, CHEM 131, CHEM 135, CHEM 231, CHEM 241, ECON 200, MATH
115, MATH 141, MATH 246, PHYS 161, and PSYC 100.
Position Summary:
The GSS program provides academic support to students enrolled in
historically difficult courses through scheduled review sessions led by peer
Student Leaders. Each Student Leader is assigned to a specific course section
and instructor. The primary functions of GSS Student Leaders are to attend
all lectures for their assigned course; plan and facilitate group study
sessions on difficult course concepts; build professional relationships with
faculty, students and other GSS staff; assist students in developing
transferable learning and study skills; and support GSS program
implementation. The position involves around 8-10 hours of work per week.
Review of applications for the Spring 2020 semester will begin December 6th
and continue through the middle of January. More information on the position
