Subject: Higher Education Emergency Relief Funding Available

Description:
Dear Student,

The University of Maryland is encouraging eligible students facing financial
distress caused by the COVID-19 pandemic to apply for assistance through the
Higher Education Emergency Relief Fund III (HEERF III). Students who wish to
apply must fill out the UMD Student COVID Relief Grant application and
provide a statement about how the COVID-19 pandemic resulted in financial
hardship.

To complete the application, log in to the financial aid portal here
https://eso.umd.edu/umdscholarships/student/browse/forms

Eligible students may use the funds for expenses such as food, housing,
tuition, course materials, technology, health care, and child care. Detailed
eligibility requirements can be found on the Financial Aid Office website
here https://financialaid.umd.edu/umd-student-covid-relief-grant-ii

Eligible students who already received the UMD Student COVID Relief Grant
based on their 2020-2021 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and
who are still experiencing financial distress caused by the COVID-19 pandemic
may also submit the application
(https://eso.umd.edu/umdscholarships/student/browse/forms) for additional
emergency COVID relief grant consideration.
