Subject: Student Group at UMD: CORA
Description:
Combating Overdoses in Rural Areas (CORA) is a UMD student org that provides
overdose prevention services to rural counties across Maryland. These
communities often have fewer resources for people battling opioid addiction,
and consequently, overdose rates are regularly as high as those in cities. We
are trying to correct this imbalance and lower the barrier to accessing help
through educational modules, technology, harm reduction, and other resources.
As the spring semester approaches, we are looking for new members to join our
initiative! The time commitment is about an hour a week, with all meetings
conducted over Zoom. Past events have included NARCAN training and guest
speakers from the School of Public Health. If that sounds like something
you’d be at all interested in, please check out this form: ter.ps/joincora.
Feel free to reach out to [log in to unmask] if you have any questions.
Thanks!
